Sign Lava is owned by Travis Frieler, who brings 29 years of experience in custom signs, graphics, printing, engraving, and custom design.

Before Sign Lava, many customers knew the business as TF Graphics. As the company grew, the name changed, but the work remained focused on helping people create custom pieces that look professional and fit how they will actually be used.

Today, Sign Lava offers a wider range of services for businesses that need practical, well-made custom signs and branded materials.

Travis Frieler

Travis began his sign and graphics journey at Northwest Technical College in Detroit Lakes, MN, in the Sign Lettering and Design program. He started his own business, TF Graphics, after graduating from college in 1997. He has since rebranded as SignLava, offering more services and better online recognition.

Travis is active in the Melrose community as a past member of the Melrose Fire Department and Melrose City Council.

He is thankful to work with his son Ethan as they continue to grow the business together.

Ethan Frieler

Ethan has been helping his dad in the sign shop since grade school. He attended Alex Tech for a degree in business management and now works full-time for SignLava, where he helps with everything from production to installs and more. Ethan loves the opportunity to meet new people, build relationships with customers, learn how best to serve their needs, and turn their ideas into reality. His favorite part about working at SignLava is the variety in work they get to create.
